Privacy Policy
WLIFE collects as little personal data as a publication can. This page explains, in plain English, what we collect, why, who else is involved and what you can ask us to do about it.

Pre-launch note
This policy is a working draft. It must be reviewed by legal counsel, and the controller’s legal entity and registered address confirmed, before the site launches publicly.
In short
You can read everything on WLIFE without giving us any personal data. If you subscribe to the newsletter we keep your email address, with your consent, to send it to you. We keep ordinary server logs for security. We set no tracking cookies of our own. We never sell personal data.
What we collect
Newsletter email address
When you subscribe to The WLIFE Dispatch we collect your email address, the fact that you ticked the consent box, the page or form you subscribed from, and the time of subscription. We may also record the IP address from which the request was made, to prevent abuse. Nothing is added to the list without your explicit consent, and our provider may send a confirmation email before the subscription is activated.
Server logs
Like every website, our hosting provider records standard technical information about each request: IP address, the page requested, the time, the browser type and the referring page. These logs are used to keep the site secure, diagnose faults and defend against abuse.
Optional, privacy-friendly analytics
If analytics are enabled, we use a privacy-friendly service that reports aggregate page views and referrers without cookies, without cross-site tracking and without building a profile of individual visitors. At the time of this policy no analytics are configured; this section will be updated if that changes.
Email you send us
If you write to us we keep the correspondence, including any images you submit, for as long as it is needed to handle your enquiry, correction, submission or rights query.
Why we are allowed to
- Consent for the newsletter. You can withdraw it at any time by unsubscribing.
- Legitimate interests for server logs, abuse prevention and aggregate analytics: running a secure, reliable website in a way that does not override your own interests or rights.
- Performance of a contract or pre-contractual steps for correspondence about submissions, rights, partnerships and, once available, purchases of digital products.
Third-party providers
We share data with a small number of providers who process it on our behalf and on our instructions.
- Newsletter provider. Subscriber addresses are stored and emails are sent by an email service provider. The provider handles confirmation, delivery and unsubscription and is contractually bound to use the data only to provide that service.
- Hosting on Vercel. The site is hosted by Vercel, Inc., whose servers receive and log each request as described above. Vercel operates internationally; data may be processed in regions outside your own under appropriate safeguards.
- Affiliate retailers’ cookies after redirect. When you follow a retailer link through our
/go/redirect you leave WLIFE. The retailer may set its own cookies to attribute a later purchase to us. Those cookies are governed by the retailer’s privacy policy, not this one. See our affiliate disclosure.
We do not sell, rent or trade personal data with anyone.
Cookies
WLIFE sets no tracking or advertising cookies itself. The site may use strictly necessary browser storage for things like remembering a dismissed notice; this storage is never used to identify or follow you. Third parties you choose to visit by following a link, including affiliate retailers and social networks, set cookies under their own policies.
How long we keep data
- Newsletter addresses until you unsubscribe, after which they are removed from the active list; a suppression record may be retained so that you are not accidentally re-added.
- Server logs for a short, rolling period determined by our hosting provider, typically measured in days or weeks.
- Correspondence for as long as needed to resolve the matter and, where a licence or rights agreement results, for as long as that agreement is in force.
Your rights
Depending on where you live you may have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its processing, to receive a copy in a portable format and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In practice:
- Access. Ask us what we hold and we will tell you.
- Deletion. Ask us to delete it and we will, unless we are legally required to keep it.
- Unsubscribe. Every newsletter carries an unsubscribe link; one click is enough.
Contact
Privacy requests and questions go to hello@wlife.bio. We will respond within the period required by applicable law.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page when our practices change, and we will update the date at the top. Material changes that affect newsletter subscribers will be announced in the newsletter itself.
