Affiliate Disclosure

Some of the links on WLIFE earn us a commission. This page explains which ones, how they work, how to spot them, and why they never shape what we recommend.

Our disclosure

Some links on WLIFE are affiliate links. If you buy through them we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. We only link to equipment and services our editorial team would recommend regardless of commission, and we never accept payment for favourable reviews. Prices and availability change: always check the retailer page.

Affiliate commissions are one of the ways WLIFE pays for the reporting, editing and photography fees that keep the site free to read. They are paid by the retailer, not by you, and they do not change the price you pay.

Programmes we may participate in

WLIFE may participate in the following affiliate programmes. Listing a programme here is not a claim of partnership or endorsement by the retailer; a programme is active only once an agreement exists and the relevant tracking identifier has been configured.

AmazonAmazon AssociatesUS, UK, EU
B&H PhotoB&H Affiliate ProgramUS, International
AdoramaAdorama Affiliate ProgramUS
Wex Photo VideoWex Affiliate ProgramUK
MPB (used gear)MPB Affiliate ProgramUS, UK, EU

Every retailer link in our gear coverage passes through a WLIFE redirect at /go/. When you click, our server looks up the product and retailer, appends the tracking identifier for that programme if one is configured, and forwards you to the retailer’s product page. If no identifier is configured the link still works; it simply carries no tracking.

The redirect lets us keep one canonical product record, swap retailers as stock and regions change, and record aggregate click counts without placing any tracking cookie on your browser. Once you arrive at the retailer, that retailer’s own cookies and terms apply, including the cookie that attributes a later purchase to WLIFE.

Prices are not shown on WLIFE. Retail prices change daily and differ by region, so we do not display them. The price you see on the retailer’s page is the price you pay; please check it, along with availability and the retailer’s returns policy, before ordering.

How to recognise an affiliate link

  • Retailer buttons and links in our gear guides carry the attribute rel="sponsored", the standard way to mark a commercial link so that search engines and browsers can treat it accordingly.
  • Any page that contains affiliate links displays a short disclosure line, normally near the top of the page or beside the first product: “WLIFE may earn a commission from qualifying purchases made through links on this page, at no extra cost to you. Editorial recommendations are never influenced by commissions.”
  • Affiliate links open through the /go/ path described above, so the destination is visible in your browser’s status bar before you click.

Links to manufacturers’ own product pages, to photographers’ websites and to other editorial sources are not affiliate links and are not marked as such.

Operator and partner referral links

Destination and expedition pages may include links to tour operators, lodges or guides. Where WLIFE has a referral or partnership arrangement with an operator, the link is marked in the same way as an affiliate link and the partnership is disclosed on the page itself. Where there is no arrangement, the link is a plain editorial reference. We feature operators because their trips are built around photographers; a referral arrangement never earns an operator a place on the site, and it never affects how we describe their expedition.

Budget estimates, seasons and itinerary details on destination pages are editorial guidance, not offers. Full terms are in our terms of use.

Questions

If you are unsure whether a link is an affiliate link, or you believe a disclosure is missing, write to hello@wlife.bio. Our broader commitments on independence are in the editorial standards.
